31 for 21:17 The Walk Day

Hi Everyone!  It’s been a really long day, so this is going to be really short.

I can’t thank everyone enough for the support we have received today for the Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk today.  Our friends and family who came and walked for Team Lillian made me feel so proud…proud to have such wonderful people in our lives.  I am so proud knowing that perfect strangers donated their money to help raise awareness for a better and brighter future for Lillian!  It as also fun to see familiar faces, like Ms. Gabby, Ms. Playette, Sofia and Joaquin, Sheridan, Gracie, The Fischer Family, The Slapes, and families from my local D.S. group! OH…I’m sure I’m missing someone!

Last year was our first walk, and I hope to continue for many more walks.

Today was truly an amazing day and I couldn’t have asked for anything better (ok…maybe a little less rain)!

xoxoxoxo many times over!

31 for 21...Step Up for Down Syndrome

Ahhh....so, I finally did my first Buddy Walk or I should have said Step Up for Down syndrome Walk in Sacramento, CA this past Sunday! Again, WE did our first walk! My family made it out of bed and ended up having a great day on Sunday!

The walk for us was totally last minute! The day before the walk, I didn't think we would be able to go because the kids were sick. But as the day progressed, they were getting somewhat better. By Sunday morning, I declared them healthy enough for the walk.

Of course, I wrangled up a great pal of mine, Lori and her daughter Leilani! She and I texted each other all night the night before to somewhat plan our event! It was cool that we both did make it! What was also cool was her husband giving us walkie talkies to send each other messages as we were caravaning towards Sacramento! Thanks Tony...that was much fun!

Being there was awesome! I ran into Jennifer and Joaquin for the first time! We spoke with Sheree and Gabby again! I saw Lisa and Sheridan, but didn't speak to them, as they seemed busy! And Monica and John Michael parked right by us, but again, I didn't speak to them as she looked busy on the phone! But I did recognize them immediately! We also hung out with another family that I met from the Babycenter Down syndrome Group! And then there was a girl from my Down syndrome Group for Solano County...Laura Beth and her beautiful baby girl Ainsley! So, yeah, I guess it was a great day to be around friends!

However, I have been lousy about taking pictures! So, I have one or two good pictures from the day...but need to find my camera to post them! I think I just need a personal photographer to follow me around!

Hopefully, next year I won't be such a slacker and start planning sooner! I will win that big trophy!
