10 Years ago today....

I was sitting in my hospital bed staring at my beautiful baby girl!  My first born!  I was so excited to hold her and have her in my arms!  When I say beautiful, she really truly was, and is, a very beautiful girl.  But the greatest gift is the beauty inside her. 

10 years and she's grown to be kind and loving.

I see nothing but the stars and moon when I think of my baby girl.

Happy Birthday Sweetheart!  Mommy LOVES you so much!

My baby will always be my baby.  But today she turns 3!

Besides all the typical milestones that I write about, her life skills are growing on a daily basis!  For instance; she knows how to antagonize her brother, steal the dog food bowl, reminds everyone to put their toothbrushes away or they will end up in the toilet, hide the phone and remote (although she knows where they are when you need them), and when to give you kisses when she knows she is in trouble!

My girl is strong and brave and she continues to amaze us everyday!

My Birthday

It's nearing the end of my birthday today!  Can you guess how old I am?

My parents always joked that they were always 29.  Guess what?  I am 29 too...four years running!!!

It's nice to still be in my 20's!

Happy Birthday Charlie!

My little man turned 4 years old today! He woke up this morning with the most excitement ever for he knew today was HIS day!

It truly was.

My Charlie was suppose to be here on July 30, but after 32 hours of long hard labor followed by a csection, he finally made his appearance. He was born with the loudest cry. In fact, he still has that same cry!

Because I knew then that he didn't want to leave the warmth of my belly, he was always going to be my boy, and he still is.

Today is Katie's 8th birthday!  

Katie is my first born.

My first baby.

She and I experienced a lot of firsts together!

There's something to be said when you change, grow, or morph in someone different, and motherhood is one of those things.  There are things that you never thought you could do, say, or act upon until you become a mother.  Really, there is no love like the love of a mother to her child.  It's one of the most amazing things to experience!

On Thursday, May 17, 2001, at 5:35 p.m. my first baby, my first born, came into this world.  What a beautiful sight!  My baby girl...how much I fell in love the moment my eyes saw her and when my ears heard those first cries!

Katie was the baby that every first parent wished for.  She was so peaceful and so happy.  She was, still is, perfect.

8 years!  

8 wonderful, tearful, and happy years!

Birthday Girl update!

I'm not sure what happened, but I've been on a internet vacation. Not completely, I guess I should say a blogging vacation.  I've been catching up on everyone elses blogs, making notes of what I should blog about, but have done nothing about it!

So, now that it's been a week since Lillian's Big 1, I thought I should finally share some pics of her and update you all on her 12 month well baby check up.

This past week Lillian had her 12 month well baby visit.  She is doing so well!  So far her stats are:

Weight: 21.2 pounds (50% on typical charts, 95% on Down Syndrome Charts)

Height: 28.9 inches (50% on typical charts, 95% on Down Syndrome Charts)

Head: 17.4  (25% on typical charts, 50% on Down Syndrome Charts)

OH...did you catch that on camera???

I had to add in both the typical and Down syndrome growth charts so you all can see the difference.  Many babies and children with Down Syndrome are typically smaller, but big enough to still use a typical growth chart.  However, you can see the her difference when comparing charts.  Lillian is huge on the Down Syndrome charts, but average on the typical charts.   Eventually, I'm not sure when, she's going to fall off the typical charts.  

Am I ready for that?

Not sure.

I guess I should just enjoy the apples for now and worry about them lemons later!

Today is Lillian's 1st BIRTHDAY!  We are so excited that she is turning one!  How fast time flies.

Shhhh.....it's my

Birthday today!

I woke up to a lovely baby hungry for her bottle and a 7 year old with crust over her entire left eye. Yep...my beautiful Katie bug has pink eye.  I called urgent care to see what I should do, hoping that I could take her in tomorrow, but nope.  We were sent to the emergency room! After 2.5 hours of waiting, we saw the doctor for about 2 minutes.  20 minutes later we get our prescription and back home we go.  I told Katie to please wait for a Monday to get sick next time!  It's so much easier :)

But before I forget...I got the most beautiful pair of diamond stud earrings from my children...sans my husband :)  So, today wasn't all too bad.  I got a long nap and now we're going to get ready for dinner!
