I have discovered BUNCO! I love it. I'm not sure if I love it because I actually met other women or if it was truly a fun game. I'm giving it another try again this week, but I bet it's a combo of both fun and conversation!
The family had a nice day out yesterday at Kids Fest in Vacaville. WE had so much fun, until we had to leave. See, Charlie hates leaving when he's told he has too. But luckily, it ended pretty quickly and the tantrum faded before we actually left the park. I'm hoping this is a sign of growing up!!! The weather at the park was wonderful and it was really nice to be out together as a family!
Bobby's parent's drove from Tennessee to California in his big truck for Bobby's pinning ceremony. It was nice. The kids were so excited to Papa in his big truck! Katie had all her friends come over and Papa let them play inside. They all thought it was the coolest thing.
What was also so great was having them here so I can go out and get a hair cut! Well, more like a trim, but it was still nice to go out with no kids. I love them so much!!!! During the pining ceremony I was given a certificate too! It was nice to be recognized for putting up with Bobby and the Navy!!! Just kidding...but it was nice.
Well, there is another mommy blogger and fellow babycenter mom who has a child with Down Syndrome. She planned this wonderful get together this weekend and I'm missing it! I really need to learn to get online more often and check messages because it's a bummer that I can't participate! It would have been my first time meeting other parent's who have children with Ds. I know I'm not the only one, but sometimes I feel like I am. But most of all, I go on living like there is nothing different about us...and most of the time there isn't. Sure, Lillian has an extra chromosome, but that's alright with us.
Ah, Bunco! Isn't it a great escape? I haven't been in a while, but there's always good convo and snacks. Who can be mad at that?

You are so fortunate. I think that because I have no other kids that I'm always seeking support. I need confirmation that I'm doing this right. The guilt is crazy. You sound happy and well-adjusted and that's what Lillian needs more than anything. We're always glad to have you over, but not just because of an extra chromosome. We could never ever talk about Ds and I'd be perfectly ok with that.
