Matthew 6:27, "Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?"
I learned early in life not to worry so much, because things happen and we can't control them. We grieve, we get mad, but we move on.
In my life, I've had to make new friends, missed airplane flights, suffered from PPD, thought I lost a sister, separated from my husband for months at a time, endure a 15 hour plane ride with 2 young children, made it through a colicky baby, and gave birth to a child with Special Needs.
Yeah, there are times when I feel like I'm hopelessly failing. I just get it out and I'm done!
But, I don't worry too much. It can't add to anything, just makes it worse.

I get what you're saying, truly. One of my favorite expressions is "Worrying is just praying for something bad to happen." That one made me think for real!
ReplyDeleteI think the hard part about blogging sometimes is that it's easy for folks to think that a post equals your whole world (good or bad) when, in reality, you're just in the midst of celebrating/grieving and on the way to getting over it.
I'll continue to take that risk though. I love our community!
I love this verse! You're so right, worrying will get no where and fast!
ReplyDeletevery true
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing that! And Chrystal - I think you're right, on all points.
